Melissa Smith is graciously detouring off the beaten path to visit Morning Glory Yoga Studios, once again, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Don’t miss out on this special treat from an amazing teacher traveling to Nacogdoches all the way from Canada.
Restorative Yoga Session and Special Music…
Experience postures that promote deep relaxation and recuperation. The long held poses will support a strong body, mind and spirit connection with the strategic placement of Yoga props which will encourage the body to release. Props will help facilitate a soma or “living aware” experience by awakening awareness of the body within or silence those overworked areas. We will flow with a gentle movement warm up, subtle body breath work, a unique restorative sequence and finish with a deliciously long Yoga Nidra meditation. You will leave refreshed and renewed.
Place: MGY2, 409 East Main St.
Date: Sunday, 02.19.2017
Time: 1:30 – 3:30pm
Investment: $45

Join Amy, Arrie, and Lou on New Years Day at MGY1 at 10am for the 4th Annual Yoga Mala, 108 Sun Salutations, a ceremony to mark a community wide transition that has become tradition here at MGYS.
The new calendar year is a great reason to investigate one’s life (thoughts, habit patterns, behaviors, and relationships). The
purpose of this ceremony is to create a space for this exploration, as well as to offer a structural model for productive investigation.
The Salutations will be broken down into 4 sets of 27 with a meditative pause between each. The leader, Amy, Arrie, or Lou, of each section will lead the first few salutations to set the rhythm. Listen and try to stay together. This is intended to be a group project. 🙂
Students may practice all 108 Sun Salutations or a portion, choosing to rest while remaining focused.
We will have an area to place flowers, candles, and special objects. If you have something you’d like to contribute, a meaningful artifact, please bring it for the ceremony and retrieve after.
Let’s begin 2017 together! Following the Mala we’ll have light refreshments, traditional dishes, and a toast to the New Year. Please join in on the celebration. <3
Please expect to be at the studio from 10am – 12:30pm.

Open Practice is today from 4:30 – 7ish pm at MGY1.
Arrie, Lou, and Amy will be in the space to give guidance/assistance as needed/wanted. Oh, and as per usual, this is mandatory. 🙂 You come.
Open practice means you arrive any time during the designated practice time, set up your mat, and practice (without a teacher leading) for the length of time you need. You get to take your time and move at your own pace, and when you’re done, roll up your mat and be on your merry way. Sounds good huh?! Come! If you just need room to sit and breathe the space is here.
Please be respectful of others and keep conversation and noise to a minimum. If you need help with a posture, we’re here, but open practice is meant to be on your own for the most part.
