The term Ashtanga yoga originates in Patan- jai’s Yoga Sutras that describe the eight-limbs of Ashtanga yoga. These include yama ( socially oriented moral observances), niyama (personally oriented observances), asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath control), pratyahara (sense withdrawl), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation), and samadhi (peace). The actual asana practice of Ashtanga yoga comes from the life and teaching of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who dedicated his life to the dissemination of this ancient lineage.
Join Jade Skinner as she shares the teachings of Ashtanga Yoga and her passion for this beautiful practice with you. Be introduced to the history and tradition of Ashtanga Yoga as it is taught today. Join Arrie and Sherri for 108 Sun Salutations!!
This yoga ritual, usually performed at times of change and transition, strengthens and purifies one’s body enabling one’s inner light to shine through. What a wonderful way to celebrate the dawning of a new year.
Practice 1 – 108 Sun Salutations. We will move as a group at a very moderate/mindful pace, creating a mediation through action. You are invited to rest and modify as needed and will find listening to your body to be very empowering.
Lokaha Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu! May all beings experience the blessing of unconditional happiness! The celebration begins at 10am but arrive a little early and settle in to the space and your body. Give yourself time to sit and reflect on the previous year, the new year, your present place, and/or visit with others.
It is FREE to attend!

This Sunday, September 21st at 9am, Morning Glory Yoga is uniting with The Global Mala Project and yoga communities around the world to practice 108 Sun Salutations in support of International Peace Day.
Mala – a sacred garland, 108 prayer beads , a timeless tool for transformation, a global gathering for unifying consciousness and action through yoga.
The purpose of the Global Mala is to unite the global yoga community from every continent, school or approach to form a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108 on September 21st, Fall Equinox, as the yoga world’s offering to further the UN International Peace Day.
